I'm afraid I posted incorrectly before. My 65 Chevelle has been converted from a 283 to a 327 and runs hot. I would like to know if there is a radiator shroud from another GM or an aftermarket piece that would work. Thanks

I know that there was a factory shroud in 65, it may take some looking to find, but there should still be some around.

The factory shroud for the 65 was not much more than a metal ring that surrounds the fan. Most of them were tossed out and are not easy to find and not very effective. There should not be that much difference in the cooling requirements of a 283 and 327. Does your engine have a clutch fan? That was one of the cooling system upgrades for the bigger engine along with the metal "shroud." The 283 had a smaller non clutch fan and no shroud if it wasn't equipped with A/C. First though, you might want to check out the rest of the cooling system and make sure it is clean and working properly. You can buy the plastic shroud from a 66-67 chevy in the aftermarket and slightly modify that to make it fit the 65.
