My motor is getting ready to be put back together and I was wondering since the radiator is out, should I have it checked, cleaned, or flushed. The car runs around 195 on highway and I wish it ran a few degrees cooler. Wasnt sure if stock radiators needed any type of servicing or maintenance.Im putting a new water pump on also.Theres also a 180 thermostat in it.

If it has been sometime since you have had the radiator rotted out or cleaned I would definatly do it now. If you have the cash, you might just have it re-cored. Have the shop advise you which option to do. I would ask around your local area to find a shop that you can trust. I have a bigblock in a car that originally had a smallblock and just had my radiator done. I kept my original 3-core bowls but got what was called and MX Core. It is supposed to work better than a factory 4-core. It was cheaper than buying a whole new 4-core. goodluck.

I'd say that if you don't know the history of the radiator, have it recored or replace it.

progress has little to do with speed, but lots to do with direction.

Blaster, As minimum have it vatted and flow tested at a decent Radiator shop. A new Modine 3 row is cheaper than you think if you get through a shop rather than Advance or any other chain. Hate to use the cliche "Cheap Insurance", but thats what it is!!! We charge $15 to check one out at the shop where I work, most that are older than 5-8 years are marginal at best. If yours is flaky go with a new radiator rather than a recore. As an analogy, would you buy a new or rebuilt AC Compressor?
PS: I don't own any stock in Modine, I just know what works.
