first let me say i am considering buying a car. and it is urgent that i get back to this soon. we all know that ls-6 cars didn't come with air? so if u have an ss dash is it hard to put air in the car? are the wholes for the vints in the dash or do u have to cut the holes in there. also if u have an 55000 tack is it hard to change to the 65000. are the two tacks diferents sizes? thank you for ur help i really need the air questions answered thank you.

The firewalls are different but NOT significantly. I converted a non air 72 to factory air using a piece of the firewall from a donor car. NO welding was required. I simply used silicon to form a seal between the donor car forewall section and the non air car firewall. Put the donor car firewall cut out on the engine sideof your firewall. I trimmed the donor car firewall cut out to exactly match the contour of the fiberglass evaporator cover that sits on the passengers side of the engine.
You really really have to look to find what was done. The conversion was done with the engine in the car and it is a Big Block car. Once that cutout is shaped and ready to go you use ALL the factory holes in the firewall to mount the fiberglass evaporator cover and the under dash heater core and distribution box. It really is a bolt in once you figure out what I have given you in terms of the donor car firewall.
Don't let the difference in the Firewall stop you.
