Does anyone know any old archives of replacing a heater coil. My motor is out right now so I figured it would be a good time to work on it.

Try a search for "heater core". It has been discussed here before. With the engine out, it may be possible (not sure, though) to access the nut that is on the lower right corner of the heater box. The core comes out from inside the car, but the nuts to fasten it are in the engine compartment. If yo cannot reach it, you may need to loosen the inner fender and reach in thru to the nut. The service manual says to drill out the bolt from inside the car, but they do not say what to do when putting it all back together.

Replacing the Heater Core is pretty straight forward, once you get the heater box out from the inside of the car. The box comes apart with screws and three rivets. I bought a htr box reseal kit and it had all the pieces needed to restore all the old gaskets.

My heater box was broken on the lower right corner, so accessing the infamous nut wasn't a problem. I just pulled on the bolt to hold the nut against the firewall and turned it until it came out - the nut fell out on the driveway, so it must be accessible. I'll let you know when I put it back in.
