Hey folks, what's the best radiator overflow bottle you know for a 69 350 Chevelle? Original or after-market? Where can you find one? Thanks!

Try running a search in the tech area, I remember this being discussed.
I have seen folks use after market Cool cans, or the one I like is a windshield washer bottle tucked under the fender.

Or you can go with the tried and true soda bottle plastic strapped to the radiator. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Search on this like Jeff said. Several of us are using mid '80s F-car ones. Fit like a glove and look great! I've got pics of mine on my page.

Thanks for the reponse. I'll try the tech section and take a look at the web site!

Wow! Just looked at your site "dreinecke." You're right. That is a "cool-looking" stock bottle. Great tip. the best I've had. Guess I'll head for the dealer tomorrow and see if he'll take my money!!!

dreinecke,

Say how did you attach your overflow bottle to the inner wheel well? I've seen the picture but it doesn't show "how" you attached it. The top tab-hole I can see it attachs, but the bottom hole appears to have a 2-finger space between there the tab and the wheel well. Did you a spacer or what to attach the bottom tab? How did you secure it? Thanks for a reply. I have the bottle and am anxious to get it in place!

'69,

It has about a 1 finger gap. If I'd placed it further back, I think it would've been flush, but I didn't like the location. I placed a metal spacer in there and ran the bolt though it.

Hope that helps!

Thanks! It does help. I thought I'd missed something. I'll find an appropriate spacer. Any suggestions or hints as to what kind of spacer you used? ie -- metal, plastic??? thanks!

Re an Over flow can for a 69, I used one from a 74 Nova. Fits on the side fenderwall and is sorta bananna shaped to fit.
