I have a newly rebuilt GM 350. What's a good, solid & complete AC unit to put in using the new refrig freon?
Who makes 'em? Vintage air?

Thanks for the info!!

Vintage air makes a "sure fit" system that is designed for your car. It includes everything you need for a/c and heat and uses your existing heater controls. I am installing one in my 65 and it is pretty easy to do. The only thing you have to do after installation is add oil and have the system charged by a pro. Cost is about 1K. Vintageair.com. Any other questions, just e mail me.

I will 2nd the Sure-Fit series, I put one on my 69 non A/C car. Best 1K I spent on the entire rebuild. Check out there website or request a catalog. There are other brands out there I am just not familiar with them.
The only drawback is you lose your glove box for all practical purposes.
I changed the hose routing from the instructions and threw the aftermarket center A/C grill and the firewall blank off plate in the trash. Other than that it was a first class setup.
Feel free to e-mail with ?'s. Good Luck.

Thanks guys. I'll check out the "sure-fit" series. It sounds like what I'm going to put in my 57 from Vintage Air ( just didn't know the name of it!)

I'll lose my glove box on that installation too! Oh well... a small price to pay for being cool... or warm!
