my 70 Chevelle 454 has A/c and the biggest radiator i have ever seen.It never runs past 1/4 on the temp gauge but always needs to be topped up 2-3 inches every time i use it.the overflow tube runs to the front of the engine, should i have an overflow bottle and if so where would i locate it and where could i get one.thanks.

The overflow bottle was not used on your car. The trick is to pay attention to the fill level in the radiator. Some radiators are marked with a fill line on the tank. There should be a one inch of airspace for a downflow radiator and 3 inches for a crossflow to allow for expansion of the coolant. If you fill the radiator totally full, it will burb out the excess every time.
