I have a schrader valve that I damaged trying to remove it on the low pressure side. The tube disappears into the fender and I believe connects to the POA valve. Is it possible to easily remove this tube to repair if I remove the fender?

Tony, There are special schrader removal tools to remove damaged schraders while the system is still under pressure. If you lost all of your freon it won't matter anyway. Check with any one of your local garages that do a/c work, or an hvac supply store. Just make sure you tell the hvac store it is automotive as the access ports are different in size from the standard used in building a/c units. Good luck.

Tony. Although I am working on a 66, the layout might be the same http://www.si.hhs.nl/~rob/images/scanned/466d_ass_ac_tub.jpg

you don't have to remove the fender, just the fender liner to get to the fitting that connects the tubing to the poa valve the pic that rusty 66 posted before my reply gives a pretty good indication of what the assembly looks like on the other side of the fender. it is very similar to what the 65 system looks like. If you have any other questions, e mail me. good luck.
