a few weeks ago there was a discussion started about using the 911 p 709 rad. Since I'm up to the rad in my rebuild I e-mailed the company about that rad. After several days I got a replay about the dimensions of the rad and its construction but the guy said that it had a cooler built in. I assumed he meant a tranny cooler, so I e-mailed back asking about one that was for a standard tranny application. The replay I got back was the same as the first (word for word) except it said that the rad contained a "oil cooler" this time. A third request to clarify that "cooler" has gone unanswered for nearly two weeks. I have also called out there twice and got an answering machine, once at about 10 am their time and the other about 3 their time. No I didn't leave a number for them to call back, as I'm in and out so much.

couple of questions for anyone that is running one of these rad. Does this rad only come with a built in tranny cooler or is it a manual application with some sort of built in oil cooler? I have a sandwich type oil cooler assembly on my car that has a small rad of its own that mounts in front of the rad. If it only comes with the tranny cooler, can I use this internal cooler for my oil cooler and eliminate the smaller radiator I now have?

BTW, 350 small block crate, mild cam, 4 speed, low rear gears so she runs at about 3500-4k at highway speed, I assume that this radiator will work to keep my mouse cool sinse it is for a 5.7 full size blazer.

I've got your tech answers, can't help with how to contact them. A manual transmission does not require a "cooler" because there is not a torque converter slipping and generating heat in the fluid. As far as GM goes, any cooler in a radiator tank will be an auto tranny fluid cooler or an engine oil cooler. The radiators we are speaking about did not come with engine oil coolers, so it must be the tranny cooler. Secondly, unless you are pulling a big trailer that generates a lot of converter slippage, you will be able to ditch the air cooler and just use the in tank tranny cooler.
