Just put the AC/heater back in my 70' and am trying to make sure everything is operating properly with the vacuum routes.

When I put the lever on "vent",the vent doors do not open up. I've checked the vacuum cans and they work. The funny thing is when I put the lever in the off position, then the vents open up. I think I have the hoses right (orange).

What is the difference between Defog and De-ice?? The flapper in the heater box doesn't seems to be in the same position for both functions.

Thanks again, it will be getting cold soon and I need to stay warm!

My A/C head unit was FUBAR. I know have a series of Tees that I have to manually pull and plug to get air where I want it. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

My thoughts:
de-ice: uses recycled air from the kick panel

De-fog: uses fresh air from the cowl.

Mine is a 72, I can't say if the colors stayed the same. Some one on here said they had a diagram of all the hose routings. I never got it from them though. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/frown.gif let me know if you turn it up! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

I think de-ice uses only heat. De-fog not only uses the heat but also kicks in the A/C compressor(above 35-40 degrees) which aids in the de-fogging process.
