My dads computer started acting up where his internet explorer wouldnt work, it wouldnt even start up, so he started to use netscape and wanted a newer version so he downloaded it and now it wont work either. You just click on the icon of either to start them and the hour glass pops up like it i strying but then it goes away and nothig happens, no error boxes or anything. When IE first messed up there was an error saying it was missing a couple .dll files but that doesnt even pop up now? Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Andy

What os do you have? Run the sfc "system file checker" or extract the needed dll's.

It is running Windows ME I did a re install of ME and it still didnt fix the problem. I finally went into msconfig and found alot of things that were running and didnt need to be. I then restarted and IE will open but befor eit does it pops up there is an error in msjw32.dll and you hit cancel there and another pops up and says there is an error in kernel32.dll you hit cancel there and then explorer will start. Same for netscape. Not sure what to think now,

are you sure it is msjw32.dll I have never heard of it. Do you have updated spyware? Me has a restore option if you have it turned on go back in time? I think it is likley spayware.

It won't let you go back? I wonder why goback will not work. Your not out of space or anything I hope? I assume you have cleaned up all your temp files etc? You might try deleting all xml objects as well.

tools, internet options, settings, view objects. those are xml type plug ins. I have removed them several times for other IE issues and if you try to use a function that needst them it should re download them. Sometimes the plug in causes issues.

After you fix all that I'd reccommend getting Mozilla Firefox..
