Somehow the website my car club uses is infected with the Trojan Horse and now my new computer is also. Any ideas on what this is and how to get rid of it? Thanks!

A trojan horse is usually hidden within another file and it is used to gain control of your computer. People may logon to your computer, via the trojan horse, explorer ALL your files, and usually have more control of your computer than you do. It's not harmful by itself, until someone access the trojan.

Now to remove it, that will be tricky without knowing what trojan horse you have. Also, how do you know that you're infected?

I've done a search with my antivirus and it shows up... I've never heard of it before this, another example of someone with too much time on their hands?!

What trojan horse is it? Also, your antivirus didn't give you the option of deleting it?

If the website is actually pushing it then the web server is infected? the server has been hacked and the virus was added. It might be one of those IE trojans which are more a spyware than full payload trojan. Put the name of it on the board here so we know which one it is.

Bloodhound.Exploit.21

Does that help?

Ok the virus scan should tell you the files it has inefected. Right them down and then down load delater. http://www.diamondcs.com.au/index.php?page=products

You only will need this if manually removing the files allows them to automatically come back. I ran into a similiar issue a few months back. the delator will allow you to specify certain infected files etc to be deleted during the shutdown/ reboot. when I had come across this it kept putting the files back and had its os based files protected from deletoins.
