All of a sudden the crossed flags on the left of the forum titles are blinking as if they contain new posts since I last logged in but when I go to that forum there are no new posts.
Is this caused by my browser settings or something?
Sounds like you tossed your cookies Dean. perhaps you visited the site from a different link that doesn't have the www in the path?
The system might set a different cookie for www.chevelles.com (http://www.chevelles.com) and chevelles.com
You can reset them by clicking on 'my profile' at the top right of any tech page and clicking on 'delete all cookies' (on the right). then log in again and all should start working.
blame this guy!

Don't know about that Al. My flags are all blinking and I'm using the same compter from the same location from the same connecton as always. Maybe they are acting as Christmas lights!

Ah ha, the old cookie monster's at it again. smile.gif
I did the delete all cookies thing like you said then I also noticed that in my Tools >internet options the "days to keep pages in history" was set to zero so I changed that too.
Should I be going to www.chevelles.com (http://www.chevelles.com) or just chevelles.com without thw "www" ?
I never come through the front door since the link I use takes me directly to the forums.
Another thing I did recently was to delete all tempory internet files and run adaware and spybot because I had picked up some ad thing that was always accross the bottom of my browser.
Anyway, I'll see what happens now
The blinking flags always worked before to let me know if there were any new posts.
Thanks

Back to normal now. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
the www is what the forum uses once you start clicking links. if your bookmark has a www in it, then no problem.
