HELP!!! I'VE BEEN HIJACKED!!!

I went websurfing and somehow contracted this virus called " Bloodhound"that I can't get rid of. Everytime I try and go on the internet, it keeps changing my homepage to different products that people are trying to sell. No matter where I try to go, I keep landing on advertisements for stupid thIngs that I don't want. Norton Antivirus didn't stop it and "Hijack This" doesnt seem to help either (nor does Webroot Spy Sweeper) . What can I do to get rid of this menacing virus and get back to normal surfing again?

PLEASE HELP!! S.O.S.....S.O.S.....S.O.S....S.O.S....S.O.S.....

Run an online Virus scanner such as Housecall.antivirus.com. Download A program called BHODaemon. A BHO is a Browser helper object, they start at the time IE is loaded. BHODaemon will allow you to remove the unwanted ones. Use it in conjunction with Hijackthis as there are backup dll's to restore the BHO. After you are done change your homepage and you should be done.

This also works well with the about:blank hijack.

update your virus files and scan it. do an online scan and see if it will kill it. It is a trojan and appears to be easily removed. Are you sure it is .17 because there are no records of it out there. I would look into other browser hijackers and see where the reg keys are. That on top of the prefetch is where it comes from.

I think I got this thing under control. I re-installed Norton Antivirus and ran a live update, then re-ran the virus scan several more times. That seems to have killed the Bloodhound Virus, but at the same time another was picked up called ied.exe. I don't know what kind of virus this is, but so far I've been trying a wide variety of virus hunters that seem to be working. Hopefully I'll have this one nipped in the butt soon and everything will be back to normal...(I hope)!!! :(
