Hey guys, I am on the market for a new laptop. I need a laptop with a CD burner, dvd-rom drive, network card, firewire card and ample storage for account information for work account info and junk, also want a 15 inch monitor. I found a Toshiba and a Compaq with all the junk I need, which is better? There is only about a hundred bucks difference between the two. Also how would I go about accessing the net though my cell phone??? My cell is a Nextel and I cant change because I have the entire office on them. here is the specs on the 2 laptops I am considering, any comments on them or other brands, models you think may be better would be appreciated. If there is any place to get smoking deals on laptops right now, please give me the heads up. These two unites I looked at comp usa.

Thanks

Personally, I'm partial to the Dell, but that aside, the most important thing in my opinion is the service after the sale because they all are high quality. Test both of them out. Call their tech service phone lines. Do they have toll-free numbers? How long does it take to get through. How long will you have "free" phone support?

In any case, enjoy.

I'm with Bob, I likey the Dells. I've had several Toshibas in the past and have been very happy with them (they were the only company I would buy a laptop from for a while). You probably won't go wrong with any of them though. One really important thing to check into is battery life.

As far as connecting to the net through your cell phone, check this site http://www.socketcom.com/product/dpc_nextel.htm I've got one of their cables to connect my PDA to my StarTAC and it works great.
