I'm not talking about the kind like Ground-Up has on this site, I mean the kind that open up multiple windows. I can be sitting here typing and all of a sudden, about a dozen or so new windows open up with solicitations from everything under the sun. How do I shut them off?
I'm told it has something to do with Java scripting, but I don't know how to disable these. I'm using Netscape, by the way.

There are some programs that will take care of it. Do a search on www.download.com (http://www.download.com) and see if you find something (sorry I don't know the name of a good one off the top of my head).

The two that I have heard of (but not tried) are "adaware" and "adsubtract" which block those ads .
