Your Moderator is saddened to have to make this post.

There have been reports that there are individuals sending SPAM mail containing links where people can donate funds to help the WTC/NYC relief effort. THIS MAIL IS FRAUDULENT!!!!!! If you should receieve such mail, send it down the trash tube http://www.chevelles.com/forum/frown.gif

Go here for more information: http://www.happyhacker.org/sucks/index.shtml

The "individuals" that engage in this sorry CRAP are nearly no better than the terrorists themselves as they take advantage of this sad crisis http://www.chevelles.com/forum/mad.gif

Off that soapbox

It's unbelievable what people will stoop to, in order to make a buck!!!!!
There have already been a rash of phone call solicitations, unauthorized, calling for money. There was ALSO an Ebay auction for pieces of the World Trade Center.
Out - (insert explecative) - Rageous!!!

I recieved this from c/net and thought it also applies here:

"Dear readers,
Words fail us at times like this. They can mislead us as well. In the wake of Tuesday's tragedy, I received a few copies of a horrific piece of e-mail: a verse attributed to 16th century prophet Nostradamus. The eight lines seem to predict the World Trade Center attack and the subsequent start of World War III. If you've received this e-mail, please don't forward it: it's a malicious hoax. Some of the words do indeed come from Nostradamus (though they've been spliced, diced, and rearranged to form a coherent prediction). But the most worrisome specifics--lines such as "In the city of York there will be a great collapse, two twin brothers torn apart by chaos" and "The third big war will begin when the big city is burning"--are fabricated whole cloth. Shame on those who would spend their energies spreading fear while we're all so vulnerable."

Gene, Unfortunately i too have seen to many people lately incorrectly quoting Nostradamus, the quote you stated for the most part, and quoting him from 1664. He died in the 1500's. For more info on this hoax check this link: http://www.snopes2.com/inboxer/hoaxes/predict.htm

There was some effort to sell "off-color" WTC t-shirts on the net but the 'Vette guys stomped it. I would post a link, but it's been yanked.
