Anthony Reinke

Anybody heard of this guy or recieved an email from him?

I just got an email FROM OR VIA him with an attachment containing the SIRCAM virus.

Anthony Reinke, If you inadvertantly sent this virus, I hope you can get it off your system.

Just in case any body else got this too, it is in an attachment called "chevystuff.doc.pif".

Just wanted to let people know...

I received it as well, scary as the topic said 'chevystuff' (which of course applies to us)

I sent him a reply:

It's a canned reply I've sent out to hundreds of emails that came in infected with this: feel free to cut and paste it in a reply should someone send you the sircam.

Hi, just a friendly piece of advice. I received several large files from you. Not your fault, you have the sircam virus on your computer and it is happily sending out the files from your computers My Documents directory.

You most likely received it from an email that said:

The email message can appear as follows:
Subject: [filename (random)]
Body: Hi! How are you?
I send you this file in order to have your advice

The virus sends itself to everyone in the users address list, so he most likely did not mean to send it to you.
