i just formatted my c drive to clean it up..
since then, when on TC, if i use the backspace key to edit a post, my screen backpages to the previous page (same as hitting the back aol arrow)rather than backspacing over the letter
i can get return by hitting the forward aol arrow..

if i press the delete key THEN press the backspace key it backspaces normally for the rest of that post...but will do the same thing if i start another post

any ideas???

Is this AOL? Perhaps you're sending ^H (backspace) rather than DEL, or the other way around. Try SHIFT_Backspace and see if that works. Does AOL have any keyboard settings? Maybe your PC now thinks it has some other keyboard.

OBTW, try turning your keyboard upside down and shaking it. You'd be surprised what all can fall into these things...

I can make it do what you say by right clicking on the page somewhere other than the box you type in. The cursor goes away is the only tell-tail sign. If the cursor is present in the edit box the back space should do just that...

Sometimes the TAB key does what you're describing. At the very least, it initiates the process of being able to do it.

Bob your right because the tab moves the cursor out of the box you're typing in and on to the "Disable Smilies in This Post." then the bacl space becomes a "back page" as I eluded to above...

This is a windows thing not AOL!!
