: curious about cb 05
vintagegmsalvage Jan 12th, 05, 2:49 AM myself & 67_ss are in the process of making plans to attend this event, we are in ar. so it is a short trip for us,what is the best hotel to stay at ? i would like to be right in the middle of the action, what is the car count from year to year? does the cb traffic start falling in about middle week ,thursday or friday? i have always wnated to go to this event I am going to make it this year ! one last question for someone , we alway go to crusin branson lights every august we get a real kick out of sitting by the motel swimming pool throwing water out into road getting cars to do burn outs , does this type stuff go on at cb? that is one of our favorite yearly events ! anybody that has been there is cb somthing of the same nature?
The best hotel quality wise is the Hampton Inn but is probably sold out. It's right near where the action is. The Baymont is comparable in quality but 1/2 mile away. The Best Western is next door to the Hampton and is considered party central. That's where most of the action is. It may still have rooms available. It used to be the host hotel. Also close to the Hampton is a Holiday Inn Express. Not too far away is a Red Roof Inn. There are occasional burnouts but is frowned upon by hotel managers. There will be Chevelle drag racing on Thursday night at Music City raceway (1/8 mile facility). Things start happening on Weds. Weds night seems to be the first "official" night of partying. The event itself starts Thursday. A few people get there early in the week.
DZAUTO Jan 13th, 05, 6:24 PM My son and I always come in on Tue or Wed (this year Wed).
We stay at the Best Western.
The BULK of the action is in the parking lots of the Hampton and Best Western (they are back to back).
Bring lawn chairs, ice chest, beer and self----------------------------------OH YA, bring a Chevelle (ANY CONDITION) if you got one, otherwise, come anyway.
Bring ice chest and beer.
Bring beer (or JD).
Basically, burnouts are a NO-NO. This is a more laid back deal.
One night is a loooooooooooooooooooooong cruise. Its fun.
One night is drags at the local strip (1/8mi). Run what ya brung.
Bring beer.
Sgtpop Jan 13th, 05, 10:34 PM You forgot my Crown!

DZAUTO Jan 14th, 05, 9:59 PM Any brew. US, Canadian, Mexican, German--------------------------OR, you can substitute JD, Crown, Seagrams, Ballentines, Myers or Welches.
Also, you can mix and match.

There's more than just "drinking" at night. Drag racing on Thursday night....cruise on Friday night. Lot's of fun!

You could spend several days just checking out all the cool Chevelles & El Caminos but there are also swap meet parts to see, games to play, informational Seminars to attend, food to eat, lots of friends to visit with, prizes to win, venders displays to check out and on and on.
Plenty to do, just not enough time to do it all.
DZAUTO Jan 18th, 05, 9:23 PM Always, keep in mind--------------------this is THE national Chevelle event. No Vettes, no Cobras, no GTOs, no Mustangs--------------------just Chevelles----------------------a sea of them!
Drinking is NOT mandatory nor expected. But, a lot of us just enjoy hanging out in the parking lot, renewing old friendships, telling lies (er, stories), gaining info from other's experiences and having a few brews, or maybe a little JD and Coke, or whatever. Regardless, its just a good time sitting around in the motel lots and relaxing (in your own way---------no pressure). This starts at whatever time and lasts until whenever. After the cruise, after the drags, after the whatever. Some go out to dinner, some go across the street and bring back McDonalds and eat it in the parking lot, or pizza, or KFC.
