I have heard that it is a well attended thing with tons of vendors/swap meet folks.

I will be there working the automotive showboards/artwork/refrigerator conversion kit space.

Stop by and say hello!

Michigan State Fairgrounds, Detroit. Around 8 Mile and Woodward if I remember right. It's been a long time but it used to be a killer swap meet.

I may be up for it if it's a good event. New to Michigan so I've never been.

It's five or six bucks to park plus the admission price...wonder if they have discount tickets available from Murrays or Overchargers?

Edit: He doesn't think so, hasn't seen any around work.

I just went on their website and they're advertising for only three buildings.. I wonder if that's the Michigan Mart, the center one and the small arena. Same price and less swap?

Geez T-Man i hope it's not another lame swap the fall one i went to was empty and the cost to get in is brutal. I think we should park and walk, then storm the gates....HEHEHEHEHE just teasin but the charges are getting crazy for a small swap! Any big swaps coming up close by? Ralph

I'll pass on this one and wait until the Monroe and Freedom Hill swaps come around. Lots more vendors and less money to get in. The best swap meet in this part of the country IMHO is held at Springfield, OH a few times a year. Worth the time and money.

Well i went it was in only 3 buildings and pretty dis-organized. Also found a disturbing trend as this was a swap meet you would figure dealing was in order some guys were great but quite a few fall into the PITA category! One fellow had a bellhousing at 250 i offered 200 and got told no way the price is 250@^%#$#*&. What is happening these days with people?

I couldn't make it, I have bursitis in my knee, can barely walk. What has happened to swap meets is called "greed" Try placing a wanted ad in the members classifieds Ralph. I know shipping is a factor though , especially with a bellhousing.

Tried that already Mike no luck, i guess greed might fit the bill. Ralph

Ralph, what # bell you looking for? Most don't go for over $150 unless its a Z-16/409 or open bottom 59-62 aluminum #553 or the like.

I went and was disappointed. I did get an assembly manual and an original 1972 Chevy parts & accessories catalog. I also found a 72 dash with the round non gauges. I wanted to pick up a cowl hood, factory hoses and clamps.
