DUKE 69

Just got home-man it's cold and raining here. It's hard to take a 20 degree temp drop!

It was fun to meet up w. some TCers again this yr.-Jim, Pete, Tom, Steve, Tony, Chris, and maybe some others I left out. That is one of the things I look foreward to-putting names with faces and talking about Chevelles.

Parts are expensive(in some cases),NOS stuff is getting harder to find (DUH!) and car prices are off the wall! Few bargains IMHO and quite a bit of the usual "trickery"(to be kind) taking place. Truly a place where "buyer beware" are words to live by. I guess when you work on a particular car all the time, you get rather callous about those who try and "get you". Saw a lot of "Carlisle paint jobs" as usual. Lots of misrepresentation and outright lies. But, did talk to a couple of people who were genuinely interested in selling their car and I felt were being pretty reasonable about condition and price. More '70 Chevelles this yr. 20K and higher. Fewer '69's than last yr. and only a couple of '68's. but still quite high in price. I guess if it's big block and Chevelle it means $$$$.

Still had a great time and would recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it before!

I found two nice salad shooters with center caps for my 93 for $30 each, and picked up a few tools, but that's about it. you can find better deals at the fall show for some reason.

I went up Thursday, bought some new stuff for the '69 and some stuff for my brand X car. I'm sure I saved lots of $$ on shipping, since I bought a new gas tank and battery for the '69. :D

Thanks to Ken and Nino at Ground Up for letting us use their hand truck! We bought a bunch of parts there! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Took pictures of 29 Chevelles in the car corral. I can post them if there is any interest.

All in all, it was a successful day.

Say Rick did you have the pleasure of having one of those pumper trucks pass you in an isle at Carlisle I lucked out this time. Come to think of it, I didn't have to move out of the way too much this time, the motorized traffic was way down!

Last fall, you'd think everyone was there in a golf cart, 4 wheeler, or a car browsing up and down the aisles. graemlins/sad.gif

I was told there was a big out cry about the
heavy ( abused) cart/buggy traffic last fall.. Onj Fiiday a guy was cruzzingthe isles on a mo-ped and I security stoped him just down form where I was walking.. As I came apon them the guy was fast stepping.. As he was informed to park it of leave the Fair Grounds

This is one of my pet peives.. I got onto a big problem in Englishtown a few years back after being hit by guy on a 80cc mountian bike. he uesd it to cruz up and down hunting for DEALS
