If any of you guys read my first post you may remember this line

"My very first car was a 68SS that my father bought brand new. Now I am one of those "had a chevelle but sold it now I wish I had it back" guys."

Well, one thing I did'nt mention is that I had done a title search and had found the car about 4 months ago. I imediatly contacted the current owner and he invited me to come see the car (it was only 40 miles from my house!). Finally, after 19 years I was face to face with my first car again. She was beatiful, the guy had done a complete frame off restoration and put her back to her original Garnet Red. She looked better than ever! The current owner is a great guy and we talked for hours. Of course I told him that if he ever decided to sell her to call me first (even though I knew that she was now well out of my price range.)

Now, here is the part that is too good to be true.
I get home tonight to find a message on the machine from the current owner. I jokingly said to my wife, "I bet he wants us to come and take the chevelle off his hands". Well I call him and sure enough, He is starting some remodeling on his house and wants to sell the chevelle!!! and he offered it to me or my father for much less than he has advertised it for, just because he wanted her to go back to the original owners.
Sooo, we made the deal and it looks like my girl is coming home!!!!!!!!!!!. I guess now I'll have to change my sig.
Sorry to ramble on like this.
I'm just soo happy!
I'll post some pics soon.

That's great! My first car was a 68 Malibu. Must be a great feeling to get her back like that.

Thats just plain cool. Also the reason I will never sell my Velle becasue I never have luck like that. I'd get her back all beat up with some hydraulics, 15 inch triple-gold daytons and some fuzzy interior with liquor stains. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif

Not only did you luck out by finding her again, you lucked out by selling her to a capable chevelle enthusiast for safe keeping and a frame off.

great to hear stuff like this.

I suggest you go out and buy a "Best of 1968" RocknRoll Hits 8-track(?), cassette or whatever, drag out the bellbottoms and cruise from sunup to sundown. This will be the most wonderful day of your life!
Oh gosh....sniff sniff...I think I'm fixin to lose it again....

Thanx for all the replies guys,
We went and picked her up last night! She is absolutly beautiful!
I don't ever remeber her looking so great. Just sitting in the drivers seat brought back sooo many memories.
I think we should contact one of the muscle car magazines. I think as great as she looks added to the story behind her finding her way home after 20 years would make for a great arcticle...what do you guys think?

(Pics coming, I promise)
regards
Dwayne
