The Rochester 4G/4GC four barrell carbs have "4-JET" cast into them. I believe this is what you have. If its this carb it will have a cast iron base.

If you're having trouble finding numbers, it might be a BOP carb (Fuel inlet pointing to the paggengers side). Not sure where to find th correct numbers for those though. (Haven't found out what kind mine is yet either.)

It does have a cast iron base and says 4G/4GC somewhere on it also,I wish i knew what they came on it looks like a good carb for someone to rebuild that is restoring a car back to original. All the parts move and work.Wonder what CFM size it is.If anyone wants to see a picture to see what it is let me know.

Some of the older Q-jets do not have a number stamped in the body, instead the serial nr.are on a circular tag attached to the casing bolts, and yes they sometimes taken off and lost.

4G/4GC used from '52 to '67.
I can't find a CFM rating, but you can be assured it was small--probably less than 600 CFM.

That was the carb that the Quadrajet replaced. I believe the flow rating was around 600 CFM. I had one that came stock on my 1962 Buick Sklylark with a 215 V-8. (that's right, a 215 cu in V-8).
Anyway I would hang onto the the carb. It has a square flange and will bolt onto a Holley style intake.

Early GM carb used on everything. Actually a pretty good carb. There were a couple of sizes I think 450 cfm was the big one.
