I'm in the process of restoring a 70 with L34 motor. Car was missing half of everything. I purchased a repro air cleaner from NPD and it does not fit well. It sits very low and the breather elbow from the base sits level with the top of the valve cover. The casting # on the intake is correct. It has an aftermarket Q-Jet.

Do you have a low-rise cast iron intake?

your air cleaner base is for 69 and older
high rise intake, you can drill out spot welds on breather tube and turn it to the rear of motor, the elbow and hose are also different
