I am looking for a fire extinguisher that everyone seems to have in their cars at the local shows. It would probably be a good idea to have one anyway. Where can I get one? Thnaks, Jason

However, APC sells one that has a chrome finish and is rechargable. You should be able to find something at any speed/race supply shop or boat supply place. Steve R. NCOA used to basically require that you have one at their shows. Definately a good idea. 427L88 Jan 30th, 01, 11:56 AM I bought one at my parts store. Can one of you fellas describe how you mounted this deal? I have a simple plastic bracket w/strap. How do you get thru the rug so you can screw into the floor, without pullin' a snag??? http://www.chevelles.com/forum/confused.gif ------------------ Gene Chaas Gold Member 62/ACES 67 SS 427 (http://www.chevelles.com/feature/october2000.html) DaleM Jan 30th, 01, 8:39 PM I mounted mine in the trunk but my trunk is carpeted so I would bet the same applies. I had side panels made to "square" off the trunk area. I took a large nail and drove it into the side panel where the bracket bolts to (whatever). This not only put a hole in the material to reduce the twisting tendency, but allowed me to drill the hole from the backside. I simply used a long enough machine screw/washer/nut to bolt it down. I'd suggest when to find a place to mount it inside, the "dimple" idea also helps you find (from underneath) any potential hazards you might drill through - such as exhaust, mufflers, etc. BTW, I bought mine from Sam's but any good automotive supply place should have 'em. If not, check with your local fire department and see what/where they recommend. ------------------ Dale McIntosh Team Chevelle Gold #92 ACES #1709 1974 454 Corvette for sale (http://www.dalesplace.com/htm/corvette/corvette.htm) www.dalesplace.com (http://www.dalesplace.com) [This message has been edited by Dale McIntosh (edited 01-30-2001).] von Jan 31st, 01, 3:05 AM I just put mine in the large plastic storage tub that I carry in the trunk at all times. It has tools, spare parts, rags, wax, cleaning supplies, etc., in it. ------------------ von '69 300 Dlx SS TC #15 ACES #1575 |
