What are the applications for the different drop down air cleaner bases ? The 2 different ones that I have, have the breather tube "turned" differently.
One is angled to exit towards the passenger side-rear, and extends beyond the edge of the base approx. 7/8".
The other exits straight out the passenger side and is almost hidden underneath the base.
**Also does anyone know the current GM part number for the chrome lid ?

PN 6423907, Chrome open element 14" air cleaner assembly. Original usage 1966-72 big block Corvette and others. This includes base, filter and lid. Lid is not serviced by itself.

Is that a drop base assembly?

It is the "most dropped" base, because of its big block vette use. It drops down and covers the whole carb....very cool. This is the original L88 vette cleaner.

the tube that goes to the rear is for 70 low rise intake manifold.

Looking for a part number on a 14"x3" air filter element. Not looking for a K&N, just a paper one. Any help?
