I bought a 4 row for the 66 from year one. If I remember right it was only around 240 and since I got it on sale in march it only cost me 212. I havnt tried it out yet but it does look like its good quality. From what I've seen else where thats about average price.

I believe mine is also HD. I bought the one for a ac car so I can add that later.

3 row or 4 row, now adays the cores they use are better quality overall, a good new 3 row might be better than any older 4 row....does that make sense? I hope so. A good Rad. guy will point you right anyway. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

As far as saddle mounts go the 2 and 3 rows use the same rubber mounts. With a 4 row the tanks are wider and require different mounting brackets. Not an insurmountable task but something to think about.

Whatever you do, take it to a good shop. One tat your friends have used, successfully!
Took mine into a local shop, told them it was for a show car, all numbers matched, etc.be careful.
They destroyed it and threw away all the ID tags that were on it.

They didn't give a damn, just told me to buy a new one.
Still chaps my A$$.

The 4-core I got from southwest was $260, but it had a long backorder. I didn't need different "mounting brackets" or anything, the rubber bumpers were slightly wider but that's it. The only problem I had was the trans coolant lines for my th400, had to bend them ever so gently to fit. get the 7blade fan kit!!!!

Sounds like you are pursuing buying something new or getting yours recored verses boiling out what you have. That's what I would do. I've never had any worthwhile longevity out of a boiled-out radiator.
