: '68 vent window problem

I have a '68 El Camino which has the crank operated vent windows. I think the regulators might be stripped or something. I can turn the handle and the window will close, but it slips before it is closed tightly. I've verified that the handle is not stripped. Is there an adjustment to fix this? If not, how do I get replacements?

Thanks!

Mine has a similar problem. It will close the vent window, but when the window hits the rubber the crank handle will travel about 1/4 turn before it grabs again.

I'm keeping my eyes open for a new regulator. Meantime I just baby it and close it to the sealing position with one hand on the crank and the other pushing on the glass.

I'm definitely not ready to take the regulator apart before I find another.

The good news is that that part looks to be the same as other Chevelle models for that year (unlike the glass).
