Hi, guys
Maybe you can help i just converted my 70 ss from idiot light to thr full guage set up, I have a couple of problems. First my gas guage does not move, do i need a different sending unit for the gas guage since I change to full guages, if not any possible reasons. second when I start up my car the amp guage reads good and then drops almost to Zero.?? any ideas. Also all the guages have all been redone and checked and all new harness have been changed.
THANKS, MIKE

Sounds like no power to the fuel gauge circut or a faulty ground.

It should show a high charge when you first start it to replace the energy in the battery, then should move to just above zero. Anytime the gauge shows discharge it means you are using more energy than the alternator is supplying such as turning on your headlights without the engine running. Hope this helps.

You don't need a new sending unit for the gas guage. Check for good proper grounding. The amp guage should not move much from zero, except when starting up, and possibly heavy revs. Hope this helps, Steve
