Hello,
I need some expert advice here. I am considering buying a White 67 SS Convertible. It seems to be in very good condition....everything seems to be fresh, replaced or new. The top looks to be new as well as interior. It has a big block and auto....was told 454...but don't don't know. Runs very good. It does not have posi. The car was advertised at 25.9K. Whats the car worth?

Welcome to the "collector" car market. Its only worth what you want to pay. Since its not original, (was told 454) it has possibly less value than a restored - numbers car. So now its price is based on aesthetic value. Or easier said, just how much does someone want the car. Sounds high, but not having seen it, well you get the idea. If I was interested in the car, I would pay for a professional inspection/appraisal. People who do this are listed in Hemmings Motor News.
I think that's high. My 67ss ragtop has the original engine and is well optioned, but I don't place the value that high. For mid twenties, it should be carrying the stock 396.
They are kinda hard to find though, so I'd hate to chase you away from a 'clean one'. Make danged sure it is what it is though, a 13867 car and it better be in very good shape.

I will second what the others said. I own a white 67 SS convertible (13867). It is nearing the end of restoration. The engine is a non-original 396. With that, the best that I could assume to get for it in most markets is about $20K. I think Al is a bit modest. I suspect that a really nice, matching # example would fetch $25K-$30K most anywhere you go. Heck, they only made about 3300 of these babies.
Unless the market in the area that your looking in is really hot, that $$ is high. The value of these have been hovering around $20-25K for the past 5 years or more. But, it must be # matching to be on the high end, or beyond.
Good luck.
