Anyone have a part number and brand of a shorty spark plug that has the same heat range as the delco r45ts? I need about an 1/8th inch shorter for number 6 plug. Is it a bad idea to mix brands of plugs like that?

According to the Accel catalog the AC R45TS crosses to Accel 0576S for the short spark plug. If you want a plug without a resistor it would be 0276S.

I hope this helps.

Not sure how it relates to the ACs, but I have the same problem and run the Champion #930s, (RV92YC for you numbers type) and you can usually get them for half the price of the Accels and seem to work just fine.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, since I only need one, price is not an issue. I think I will go with the accell. Thanks again.

Forget the Accels! Don't know of any place you can buy just one. Eight cost about $25 and are junk.. Go to NAPA and buy 8 of the 930's like BC said and be happy for less money, ain't that what lifes about ?

I don't know how true this is but a friend of mine said that the vettes use a shorter plug for some reason. You could check this out.

My question is why do you need a shorter plug? What kind of headers. What kind of what ever do you need clearance for.R44Rs work in my SB with headers just fine.FRED

I need them because I'm running Dynomax headers on my SBC. Plus even with the Champion 930 I have to use a modified open end wrench to get number 6 plug out or in. In fact the quickest way I have found to change all the other plugs is with a "lawnmower type socket and a 3/4" wrench.

I ran into the same problem due to my angle plug heads and I too were considering the accels. Are these champions as short as the new accels, because I could sure save some money for other things.
