I had a chance to talk to the guy with the mystery "SS" in Iowa. He says the car originally came with a 283/powerglide. It now has a 327/350. It also has badly rusted floors and wheel wells, and has an unspecified trans problem. Did Chevrolet put a 283/PG in those cars? Thanks for all the previous responses- Steve B.

I remember a friend bought one new back when I was in high school. Just as you describe. I saw this same car about a year ago under a tree, not much left. Ohio sure is hard on these cars. tom
