Is the horn contact the same on wood steering wheels as it is on standard wheels?

If you are converting from standard wheel to wood wheel, you need to buy a small parts kit, which includes the hardware you need.

The horn kits in the year one catalog say they can not be used with the wood wheel.So where can you buy these kits?Car is a 66.
