I just re-installed my gas tank and put a new sending unit wire on. The wire has a fitting that looks like it connects to the "male" end on the trunk wire harness. I cannot find this fitting. Can the wire just be connected to the electrical block below the latch on the truck hood or do I need a new harness. I dont have the old one to compare.

The wire looks like it goes to a connector that also has the back-up light wiring in it. There should be a connector with the tan sending wire and the light green back-up wires in it. Maybe follow the back-up light wires.
If your question is can you solder and sleeve the wire to the tan wire on the block: The will work if you can't find the other connector.
