The LED light *must* have the proper polarity to illuminate, while the standard incandescent could care less. Any chance the polarity to the lights is reversed from normal?
Also, does the LED light when you put battery power directly to it? Maybe someone had it before you and burnt it up somehow?

Hi Corey
Thanks for the reply. The tail lights work perfectly with standard 1157 bulbs in place so that would eliminate wiring problems. The LED'S are new out of the box and both new LED'S work the same "not at all".

Quicky troubleshoot - Hold the "can/case" of the LED unit to the Neg. terminal of the battery, and touch a jumper wire from the Pos. to the bottom lugs. If it lights, good. If not, dead LED unit.
Battery charger will work too.
Sometimes the contacts in the sockets lose the springyness at the bottom disc with the electrical lugs. The bulbs may be long enough to press and contact, the LED's may not. Compare the distance from the indexing lugs on the can to the lead "buttons", bulb to LED. Disconnect the Neg. battery cable, and press on the "disc" in the socket. It should spring back. It might be stuck.
