I recently replaced both the switch and cancel cam and the cam just barely touches the ears on the switch and won't kick it back to the center. This is the same for both directions. The switch is a Boyne and it is in a 66 Pontiac GTO, I know the Chevelle and the Pontiac use the same switch and cam so this group was my best hope for someone to have seen this problem. The cam is identical in every way to the original so it is not the problem. The switch looks identical to the original except the original had the cancel ears missing so I can't confirm they are correct. Please look at the photos and see if you might shead some light. The first pic is just the switch by itself. The second pic is with the cam installed fully. The third is with the cam pulled slightly away from the ears to show how little they will actually contact. The pic 2&3 shows the switch in a right turn. If I push the ear in about 1/8" closer to center the cam makes contact and turns off the switch.

Your missing two little spring things,(technical jargon), that goes on the part in the first picture. They are actually the parts that hit the cancel cam and click the turn signal off. There is a left and a right and I'm sure someone will have a picture and probably a real name for them.

Jeff, I called to order the springs today and found out that this switch doesn't use them but, I did find out that there was a problem with the switch being molded wrong at the cam arms and they have since recalled them. looks like I have to sit back and wait a few months for a new one.

Isn't that big spring supposed to go under the cancelling cam ?
