On my 71 the reverse lights dont come on, all other lights work. Ive tried changing bulbs, cleaning the around the light, and replacing the fuse. Would it be the reverse backup light on the tranny??? im not sure and help would be great. thanks.

Automatic or standard?

You need to check the backup light switch. On an automatic it will be inside the car. Not sure on a standard because I never ran backup lights when I had a standard transmission. I was lazy when I was a teenager.

yea, sounds like it is an issue w/ the switch, not the bulb or fuse.

67's had a switch mounted on the transmission for the backup lites - imagine yours is the same.

On a 71 it is inside on the column, the backdrive rod has to be working to rotate the column to activate the lights and remove the key. If the rod has been disabled then the back up lights might be unplugged from the switch.
