I started the full body off restoration 4 years ago on my 68 convertible. So, some things are a little fuzzy. I'm at the point of putting the tranny console back in. There are two black wires that come together with one lug towards the front of the harness. I don't remember where they go. They might just be a ground(maybe they go under one of the hold-down bolts). I can't find them on the wiring schematic. Anyone know where they go? Can somebody with a console peek under the front of their console and tell me where they go?

Those wires sound like a ground connection. Not sure if anyone's around to confirm that. Again not sure where the "proper" place to screw them down to.

Yes they are ground wires. The ring lug will go under one of the two front mounting screws.
