My brother has a 55 ford with original v-8 I think 272 motor and want to know if there are any hei distributor that would fit from a later model ford motor. The car has already been switched over to 12 volt system. Any ideas? :confused:

Being a Chevy fan, I can't say I know much about the "f" word. But you might have him check with Pertronix, they have a system you install into an original point type chevy distributor. They MAY have one for you blue oval guys, but I just don't know. Accel, or Mallory may have a similar set up, and I know M & H wiring fabricators was working on a Chevy setup as well. Any of them should be able to supply either product or helpful advice. And I can't help but think that mustang and classic truck lovers have worked something out and that there's some websites that pass on that kind of information. Tell him good luck.
