I just pulled out my 66 out of winter storage and after a interior make over.The batt,needed to be charged,but now it seems that after the car is warm,and I turn on my head lights, at an idle the lights are dim,and the idle seems to be errattic.(spelling don't count)Then when I start up again,lights back to normal.Can some of you guys please help me.Where do I start?

If it is a low voltage problem, start by taking a couple of measurements. With the car running, measure the large stud on the back of the alternator. The one with the red wire on it. When you measure the red wire to ground with a meter, look for around 14.5 volts. Voltage should be the same (14.5) on the + terminal of the battery when the engine is running.

Thanx John.Now for part 2. Lets say the volts are 14.5 for both,then what?Also,if I don't get the 14.5 reading,where to go from there? I'll be doing this all tomorow,so I'm trying to get all my info......Thanx again

Check all your grounds conections--bat to motor-motor to frame -frame to body, etc.
