I read an ad about this in a magazine about a place that'll take your stock alternator and put 135amp insides in it, but I lost the magazine, does anyone know what I'm talking about? I think they also did something to make it charge at idle too.

Not sure which company was in that magazine. Might find somebody local to do it but here's one name. http://www.greenbayrebuilders.com/

What alternator are you using ?? The reason for the question is a 10si has a small intake for cooling and just plain heats up even with the smaller 100 amp kit installed. You will be money ahead with a beefy 12si or i believe the "cs"? series.

Jim makes a good point. Many of these cheaper upgraded alternators do nothing to improve cooling. That, and 1-wire hook-ups are the cause of so many premature battery/alternator failures.
