I hope you can give me some insight into what is the problem with my 1969 chevelle malibu.Recently my gererator light came on so i replaced the alternator which seemed to solve the problem, the light went of so i thought everything was ok,but a week later the light came back on and within a few weeks my battery went dead, so i replaced that today also and the light is still on,what else could it be? Thanks in advance,
John

Need to take a few measurements. Perhaps the regulator. This help?

Also, don't overlook the wiring too quickly. On these older cars the wires have sometimes been broken and "twist and tape" repaired and the connectors get old and dirty and brittle so they sometimes don't make contact or intermittent contact. The good news is that if it's the connectors, new connector ends are available at most auto stores. To replace them right requires soldering and heatshrinking the wires. Look for the new heavy duty heatshrink with the glue inside because it seals really well.
