i own a 1970 chevelle ss. recently someone tried to steal it. they tried to start it with a screwdriver, but were unsuccessfull. they tore up the ignition lock, and i am trying to remove it. how do you remove the actual ignition lock once you have taken the steering wheel off and taking the turn signal cam off?

Here's Tony's article on steering columns. I usually buy the new lock assembly first. That way, I know exactly where the release keeper on the lock is by measuring it from the end. That way I know where to break through the casting to release it.
