I am swapping in a tilt column for the not tilt colmun in my 70 Chevelle. I pulled the tilt from a 72 Elky (everything worked).

I started the swap today. As I compare my column with the tilt column I noticed a difference in the white plastic plug mounted to the steering column.

So what is the difference between 70 & 72 plugs?

DG,first time column swapping? http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gifNothing is different...you just "reverse" the the harness connection going into the plug on the column...look at it closely,you'll see what I mean.Bascally,it's like a tilt column plugs in one way and a non tilt plugs in the other,but it's the same harness..I've done this swap quite a few times,and never had a problem with year to year.

Hey is there any difference in the shaft that goes from the end of the column to the flexible joint? I left that part when I pulled it from the elky.
