im having the engine harness repalced and the fine folks at M&H need to know the resistance value for a mallory promaster coil. i called Mr.gasket (i think they now own mallory) and they said .6 ohms but werent real sure. any ideas. thanks Dave

I am a little unsure of what info you are seeking. Do you need the resistance of the coil's primary winding, or do you need to know the resistance of the "ballast" wire in the harness? The typical stock coil will haved a primary resistance of 1.5 to 2.0 ohms. The resistor "ballast" wire will be about 1.35 ohms for 8 cylinder engines and 1.80 for a 6 cylinder.

im having m&h build me a wire harness that incorperates a resister wire instead of using a ballast resister. they said factory was 1.35. but they did not know what the promaster coil required. to low or two high and the coil dosent work right.
