68Elkie

I just dropped a crate engine in my '68 Elkie that I'm wiring for HEI and an internally regulated alternator. I replaced the resistor wire for the distributor at the fuse box and got rid of the voltage regulator wires.
I have this 14 gauge Orange wire coming from the fuse box and can't figure out where it goes. I think it was just laying loose down in the trans tunnel. The Front wiring diagram shows it coming from the bulkhead connector and just terminating somewhere below the Heater Blower. Looking at the Rear Center diagram, it goes to a Heater Switch inside the car which is connected to a Heater Resistor. I have factory Air, could this be for Non-AC cars? I probably don't need it, right?
