Just put the motor back in the car and getting everything ready to go. Started to hook the battery up and the starter began spinning  . As far as I can remember, all the wires are hooked up to the same place. Anyone have any ideas on what would cause this? The bendix wasn't trying to engage, the starter was just spinning. graemlins/clonk.gif

Purple wire goes to the "S" terminal. Yellow wire goes to the "R" terminal. Check the wire location. If OK, remove these wires one at a time. Guessing that the starter may be spinning if you remove these wires. Guessing something with the solenoid.

You just may have the battery cable attached to the wrong large terminal on the solenoid. It should go on the top; the terminal that is physically farther from the case of the starter motor.

Quick guess.
