Basically it doesn't work anymore. It doesn't get power anymore. How do I know if it is the switch or the motor?

IF its the switch, what have you guys done to replace it? OEM switches are impossible to find (I need one for my wagon too) and I hate the metal toggles.

The switch in my car ('65) looks a lot like the power window switch in later year. You may be able to find a power window switch would passes for OEM.

Hey, that's a pretty good idea. I think my Dad has some junk cars with power windows.

I got a tester on the switch and it is getting power and seems to be ok. But the top motor is not getting any power. And the breaker out on the firewall is getting power too. Now what?

Maybe, you have a break in the wires running back from the switch to the top motor. Two heavy wires run under the carpet from the switch under the back seat into the trunk. If you have had the driver's front seat out recently, you could have crushed one or both wires when you reinstalled the seat. This should be easy to test with a continuity tester. I recently had a problem with the tail lights on my car. It turned out that the plug connector for the rear wiring harness had just fallen apart. With these old cars, anything is possible.

No, the seat hasn't been out in 16 years. Maybe it just corroded? Or came loose?
