OK, the swap was from an original 1964 6 cylinder to a 400SB.
THe alternator that The Guy put on is the one that was on the 400 previously and so I am guessing that it is the later model internally regulated type.
When he wired it, he put the red wire on th esmall connector to the ignition (key-on voltage) and the larger red wire to the battery. He left the other wire hanging out of the connector.
The original wires to the voltage regulator, he cut, and wrapped the end with tape.
How long before the car burns down, or alternately (so to speak) where can I turn for a diagram that shows how to CORRECTLY rewire for this setup?
